My grandma was 'Chaiji' (Kulwant Kaur) for her children as well as her grand children. She was adorable and very affectionate. She died young at the age of sixty-six (23rd February, 2001)

I was very close to her. She used to look forward to my visits to her. She was keenly interested in my studies, exams and results. The time spent with her will always be remembered by me very affectionately.

She was born in Gujaranwala, a town near Lahore now in Pakistan. She along with her mother, a younger sister and a brother came to Patna, the capital of Bihar during partition. She had lost her father in the frenzy of partition violence. A great tragedy. She was only 13 years old then.

In Patna Chaiji and her family used to live in a refugee camp. My great grandmother used to stitch clothes. Chaiji used to move around getting orders, delivering and taking payments. Her younger sister, 11 years old,  used to help great grand ma. Chaiji's brother was just a year old then.

At the age of 15 Chaiji was married to Darji (Mahendra Singh). My great grand parents had four sons and three daughters. My great grand father was born in Lahore. They had come to Patna during partition of India.

My grand father lives in Patna. His personality is very strong. At the age of 76, still in full command of his business. A very successful and sensitive businessman. Everyone who meets him cultivate a deep respect for him. He is always there for any one who is in need.

My eldest mamaji is Dr. Devendra Singh and mamiji is Dr. Amarjeet Kaur. Mamaji is a business person. He manages his A.S. Enterprises with the help of mamiji. Both are doctors in naturopathy discipline. They have four daughters. Eldest is Kiran Didi. She is married and have a adorable daughter, Manya. So, you get it right, I am her Mausi. Next is Mittu Didi. Both Kiran Didi and Mittu Didi are career oriented. Mittu Didi has done her interior decoration course and is married to Vikram Jijaji. Number three is Rini Didi studying in NIFT, Delhi. A very talented fashion designer. Fourth is tom-boyish Mini Didi, studying in Chandigarh doing a course in architecture.

Bhupendra Mamaji and Parmjeet Mamiji are next. Mamaji is a well-established property dealer. They have a sweet and very good-natured daughter Jyoti. She also has a homepage of her own. Jyoti also writes poem. It's  great to have a sensitive sister like her.

Next comes my Inderjeet Mausi. I call her Baby Mausi. She loves me a lot. Her daughter Suman Didi is buzy with her job and my most beautiful niece, Chahat. She is just adorable and very cute. In future I will insert her picture. She is a very cute little doll.

Next comes Mummy. Of course you know her by now.

After her is Narendra Mamaji and Sweety Mamiji. Like my other two mamajis he is also a business person. Mamiji helps him in every way. Their two sons Navtej and Rajvir are my dashing brothers. Navtej and myself are close because of being in the same age group. He is studious, just like me. I enjoy chatting with him. He has also given his 12th board. He loves to take part in debates, quizzes and exhibitions. Rajvir is popularly known as Sunny. He is adorable. Likes dresses, eateries, fruits, tit bits with soft drinks. He is in Std X. Well, I wish best for his board exams.

Next is Pinky Mausi and again Pinky Mausa (Gursharan). Pinky Mausi runs a boutique and Mausa is in service not business. They have two daughters. Silky Didi at present is preparing for her C.A. exams. She is very studious and a bit quite type. Younger one Mano is just the opposite...mast kind like Sunny. Both Mano and Sunny make a good pair. Studies don't worry them. They take it in their easy going stride.

Well, I would also like to introduce my Sweety Mausi. Manjeet Mausa runs a computer business. They have two naughty children. Both are very lively. The environment is never dull when they are around. Both are good students in the primary section.

Of course, the color and variety from my mother's side is very interesting. Most of them in close touch with business.

With my parents, parents- parents and all my uncles, aunties, brothers and sisters you can rightly say "I am fortunate!"
